Kathleen Pointer is a marketing and communications volunteer at Tulalens, and a freelance journalist currently living in Chicago. She has reported for The Kansas City Star, KCUR-FM 89.3 and other publications in the Midwest. Kathleen has a BA in journalism and women's and gender studies, and a multicultural certificate from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She's focused her studies and activism on how to bridge the digital divide, the relationship between social justice movements and the media, and how to increase access to reproductive healthcare resources.
Laura Lighty is a design researcher and industrial designer currently working at Techtronic Industries, a power tool and equipment company. She is focused on creating user-centered power tools, and advocating for the end-user. Laura was also a participant of the International Development Design Summit (IDDS) Aarogyam, a program out of MIT's D-Lab that focused on co-creating medical design with rural villages in India. She graduated from Pratt Institute. with a BA in Industrial Design.
Alaa Itani was a business development volunteer with Tulalens. She worked to improve upon business development capabilities. She previously interned at the United Nations Relief and Work Agency and the Clinton Global Initiative. She holds a BA from Washington University in St. Louis.
DataKind's data scientists developed analytic scripts that will allow Tulalens to more quickly get data back to under-served women.
Jeffrey Chang and Leo Hentschker developed an initial version of Tulalens' Android app for data collection during the IDHack 2015. Both are undergraduates in their freshman year at Harvard University.
Nguyen Nguyen was a volunteer backend programmer. He currently works at the Library of Congress as an Information Technology Specialist, and he holds a BS from the University of Maryland College Park.
Peter LeBrun was a volunteer Android app developer. He currently runs the Consumer Marketing engineering team at American Well. He previously worked as a software engineer at Wayfair, and built out a Business Intelligence team at Gemvara. He holds an MBA in Marketing Informatics from Boston College, and a BS in Finance from Northeastern University.
Vinay Peddinti was a volunteer Program Manager with Tulalens. He served as a thought partner and program manager in Hyderabad. He's a social entrepreneur who co-founded one of the first co-working spaces in Hyderabad, Co.Lab.Orate. He holds a BTech in Electrical Engineering from CVR College of Engineering.
